Location:  YMCA London South West (Corporate Office, Surbiton)
Contract:  Permanent, full-time
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday
Annual Salary: £32,000.00 per annum
Closing date: 9am, 16 June 2017

YMCA East London and YMCA London South West have recently merged and are now one organisation with a growing presence across South, South West and East London. YMCA London South West is part of the affiliated YMCA Christian Movement, offering opportunities to young people and their communities to develop in mind, body and spirit and so help to fulfil their potential.  It aims to reflect this holistic approach in the way it recognises the value of each individual staff member and enables them to make their unique contribution to the organisation’s mission.

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Learning and Development Officer to undertake an analysis of training and development requirements across the newly-merged Association and direct the creation of appropriate initiatives to meet the requirements, including planning for future growth and development. This will include career development initiatives such as knowledge sharing, and skills acquisition.

The postholder will also be responsible for implementing effective internal communications initiatives to improve the Association’s ability to share knowledge and information across all parts of the Association.  Reporting to the Strategic Lead for Organisational Development, the post holder will also be responsible for supporting the Area Managers and Area Directors to design and implement effective learning and development strategies to improve the skills of staff and managers in delivering the local business objectives. As such, the post holder will develop a close and harmonious working relationship with all Area Directors and Area Managers.

The successful candidate will be degree level educated, with the highest level of skill and attention to detail in producing quality written English training programmes, and ideally hold a professional training qualification from a recognised provider.  A good working knowledge of equality and diversity policies is also essential.
