Finance Officer (Payroll, Banking and Admin)

Based at: Based at our Corporate Offices in Surbiton
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: £24,008 – £28,523 per annum, depending upon qualifications/experience
Closing date: Midday on Friday 29 July 2016

A new opportunity has arisen for a Finance Officer (Payroll, Banking and Admin) to join our Finance team, gaining experience and working with colleagues in a variety of functions throughout the Department. This position will cover areas such as processing payroll; reconciling bank accounts; petty cash and assisting in the production of timely and reliable accounting information for use in the production of monthly management accounts and Financial Statements. You will also be required to provide statistics and other information as are required by regulatory and statutory authorities, the Board of Directors and the Audit & Risk Committee. You will also assist the Head of Property Services with contract management, reporting and general administration duties. You will cover for other Finance Officers including the processing of sales and purchase invoices.

The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of book-keeping and accounting procedures, knowledge of databases and payroll procedures, together with experience of operating Microsoft Excel, bank and other similar reconciliations. Candidates will also need to be able to: demonstrate initiative and be proactive in completing work tasks; maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail; and work outside of regular hours on an occasional basis to meet Departmental deadlines. Experience of using Sage 200 or other accounting packages would be beneficial to candidates. Assistance for accounting qualifications is given for the whole period of employment, following successful completion of the probation period.
