Hours of Work: (This is a fixed term contract up to 31 March 2017). 40 hours per week, shifts to cover weekdays, weekends and bank holidays
Hourly Salary: £7.70 per hour

We are looking for a Restaurant Assistant to assist in all aspects of the running of the café at YMCA Surbiton. The Catering Department falls under the YMCA brand of Health and Wellbeing and is quite unique delivering a number of catering services which include cooking for housing residents and delivering a café style service to the public providing good wholesome and fresh food. The café also accommodates functions and meetings/conferences held at the site. The postholder will be required to provide excellent customer service, prepare food and drinks to a high standard; maximise income and customer satisfaction within the café; keep all kitchen areas clean and tidy, whilst working independently or within a team.
It is essential to have knowledge of special diets and food allergies, health and safety and food hygiene issues; experience of providing a service to the public with sales or customer care experience; possess good verbal communication skills and to be able to manage and prioritise conflicting demands. It would be beneficial to hold a food hygiene certificate and to have experience of food preparation and presentation.
