Design & Communications Assistant

Based at: Corporate Office in Surbiton KT6 4QH, with travel between and work from, any of the Association’s sites
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week: generally worked office hours, with occasional evening and weekend work to cover events
Annual Salary: £20,660 per annum

As the Design & Communications Assistant you will work within the Marketing & Communications team to provide a high quality marketing service across the Association.

This is a varied role which involves assisting with the delivery of the Marketing Departmental Plan; promoting the ethos, events and activities of YMCA LSW. Primarily, you will be responsible for the design of marketing materials with a strict adherence to brand guidelines; publishing in both print and digital formats; the distribution of marketing materials; updating the YMCA LSW website; and online listings.  You will assist with social media; site presentation; photograph and video YMCA events; edit photographic material; and maintain the photographic library.

Experience of design and layout are essential, as well as having a good working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Quark and an eye for good design.  Excellent communication and computer skills are required as is an interest in new technologies, particularly digital channels.  The ideal candidate have previous experience of delivering a range of marketing activity and able to travel to all Association sites on a regular basis.  This role is subject to safeguarding checks including a DBS check in line with YMCA LSW procedures.
