Hours of work: 30 hours per week, term time; 40 hours per week during school holidays (12.30pm to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday, including 10 hours admin, term time only, 40 hours per week during school holidays).
Annual salary: £16,218.00 per annum

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team in the planning, delivery, and review of high quality childcare and play opportunities for children at YMCA Hawker. The Afterschool Club and Holiday Playscheme provide a place for the children to come and play, explore, build on friendships and enjoy the outdoors. You will be responsible for: creating an inclusive and safe environment for children; reporting and recording information about the setting; supporting and developing staff; ensuring that the setting operates within its budgetary parameters, and maintaining accurate financial records.
We are looking for someone with a playwork background, who is able to lead on this provision, be creative in their approach to a variety of play opportunities, and provide a range of activities to meet the needs of children of different ages and skill levels. It is essential to have: an NVQ Level 3 (Playwork/Childcare) qualification or equivalent (or be working towards this); an understanding of the Playwork Principles and Statutory EYFS requirements; knowledge of child protection processes; experience of leading and developing creative activities and play opportunities for children; good planning and organisational skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
