Duty Officer (Bank)

Location: YMCA Surbiton
Hours of Work: 5.00pm – 10.00pm, various days available
Hourly Salary: £9.22 per hour
Closing date: 21 August 2017  

We are seeking a Duty Officer Bank to act as the Manager on site, with operational responsibility for the smooth running of the Centre whilst on duty, dealing with any issues, problems, incidents and complaints as they occur at YMCA Surbiton, or the nearby move-on houses. You will be responsible for the wellbeing of residents, staff, members and other users on a daily basis, and the safety and security of the premises whilst on shift. You will also provide leadership to the Centre in the absence of Departmental managers; take a day to day role in the management of residents, ensuring consistency of approach with the Housing and Support Team; provide high quality customer service to members of the public, residents, and other Centre users, as well as members of the public making enquiries; make routine checks of the main public areas ensuring they are clean, tidy and risk free, and ensure that Health and Safety standards are maintained.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of housing support services; experience of dealing with emergencies, challenging situations and people; the ability to form non-judgemental and constructive relationships, whilst holding clear boundaries; and the ability to write reports, especially Incident and Accident Reports. It is essential for candidates to have experience of working in an environment providing a service to the public and customer care experience.
