Location: Hampton Youth Project and will also be required to work across South West London (Kingston and Richmond)
Contract: Fixed Term Contract – 3 years – with possible extension to 4 years
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week
Salary: £30,000 per annum

YMCA London South West and YMCA East London have recently merged. This new organisation has a growing presence across South, South West and East London. An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an Area Youth Manager to provide leadership direction and operational management of the Youth work, and will be a hands on approach.
The role will involve working with the Strategic lead for Children, Youth and Families and the Area Director to ensure the department meets the vision and relevant strategic aims and objectives of the Association as well as ensuring the department meets its legislative and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will ensure high quality provision of services and excellent customer care, have an ability to consider opportunities for growth and ensure relevance of services in the local area, and to support, appraise and lead the development and implementation of new work.
To undertake an operational review of the department, develop and implement plans to address systems of management of each function, understanding and achieving relevant strategic objectives, improvement of quality of service and customer care, identifying growth opportunities and ensuring Youth centre contract delivery is established.
The successful candidate will hold a Youth Work JNC fully qualified recognised qualification or equivalent, have an in depth knowledge of youth work practice requirements and settings, Child Protection and Safer Recruitment, and First Aid Certificate, experience of setting up and managing a range of youth activities and budget management.
