Based at: YMCA Surbiton
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week based on 6 day rota, Monday to Saturday early and late shifts
Hourly Salary: £7.70 per hour
Closing date: 14 July 2017

We are seeking a Restaurant Assistant to assist in the smooth running of catering at YMCA Surbiton. You will be part of a larger Catering Department which falls under the YMCA Health and Wellbeing brand and is quite unique delivering a number of catering services; which includes daily meals for the residents that live in its hostels, cafés open to the public, as well as catering for functions; meetings and conferences held at its other YMCA sites. We also cater for three free schools.

 The café at YMCA Surbiton provides daily meals for the housing residents as well as being open to the public and accommodates functions and meetings/conferences held at the site.  The postholder will be required to provide excellent customer service, prepare food and drinks to a high standard; maximise income and customer satisfaction within the café; keep all kitchen areas clean and tidy, whilst working independently or within a team. 

It is essential to have knowledge of special diets and food allergies, health and safety and food hygiene issues; experience of providing a service to the public with sales or customer care experience; possess good verbal communication skills and to be able to manage and prioritise conflicting demands. It would be beneficial to hold a food hygiene certificate.
