Based at: Required to work across all sites on a regular basis, but with significant time at Corporate Office in Surbiton
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, generally worked within office hours, Monday to Friday, with occasional evening work
Salary: up to £70,000 per annum

Following the merger of YMCA London South West and YMCA East London a new YMCA group in London will be created to become the largest YMCA for the London region. The organisation’s aim is to be large but local, providing value for money in relation to its services and generate opportunities for growth. Other mergers are expected to follow in the near future. One of its key pioneering projects is Y:Cube, an innovative venture that was launched in Sept 2015. Through Y:Cube developments the organisation can realise its vision of increasing the supply of quality, affordable accommodation not only in SW London but across the UK. The off-site construction of the Y:Cube has been developed in consultation with world-renowned architects Rogers, Stirk Harbour and Partners and with Project Managers Aecom.
The YMCA Federation is one of the largest providers of supported accommodation for young people in the country. With properties ranging from hostel accommodation, specialist modular buildings and commercial premises. This role leads on the delivery and development of Property Maintenance, Asset Management processes and Property Development. Reporting to the CEO you will service the Board Development and Asset Committee ensuring that all proposed capital projects are fully costed, financially sustainable, and meet all relevant regulatory standards. You will also share the organisation’s vision for innovative development schemes.
To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate the following:
- Experience of leading a Property Development/ Asset Management department or holding a senior position in a major department.
- Skilled in negotiating and monitoring construction contracts and asset/facilities management
- Experience of preparing and implementing multi- year rolling Capital and Maintenance Programmes with multi-million pound budgets.
- Good knowledge of all relevant compliance legislation and issues (e.g. Health & Safety).
- Strategic management experience, including business planning, annual reporting and monitoring organisational performance.
Experience of leading a multi-functional team and working with committees, boards and stakeholder groups.
