Hours of Work: 40 hours a week
Hourly Salary: £18,000 per annum

The HR Department provides an HR service for over 500 staff and 175 volunteers. We are involved in all areas of HR work – supporting line managers in recruiting and inducting workers, learning and development, payroll, generalist HR queries through to staff welfare. The HR intern will support the HR team; inputting data for both new staff, process staff changes and leavers using the Association’s payroll system, currently ADP; undertake Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) documentation for new and existing staff; draft offer letters and contracts; respond to requests for application packs; prepare shortlisting sheets; request references and assist in preparation for training events.
The ideal candidate will need to be well organised and detail orientated to undertake the placement. The internship will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to work in a generalist capacity on a day to day basis providing transferrable skills for a future HR career. You will need some knowledge of HR/personnel issues including employment legislation; knowledge of Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) checks; able to proficiently use IT systems and be an excellent communicator.
